In Memory of Balloon Girl

2011. Performance at Cathays Cemetery, Cardiff, UK. Exhibition at St David's Hall, Cardiff, UK.

Performance duration: 20 minutes.

I attached 30 helium balloons to my arms, climbed a tree (a Cedar of Lebanon), remembered Balloon Girl and her fateful jump, then threw myself off into the blue crash matts. The performance concluded by aggressively bursting each brightly coloured balloon with a pin.

In Memory of Balloon Girl film documentation and publication launch took place in November 2011 at St Davids Hall, Cardiff, UK.
